UK teachers face violence in the classrooms

A survey by the Labour Force found that teachers in our secondary schools are three times more likely to be assaulted at work than any other workers. Approximately 8,000 teachers are a victim of assault at work every year. Over 1,000 children are suspended from school each school day for violent offences and two thirds of teachers say this type of behaviour is driving professionals away from the classroom.
